WASHINGTON—The operators of a telemarketing scheme charged with bilking millions of dollars from consumers, many of whom are seniors or military veterans on fixed income, will pay approximately $7.5 million in consumer redress under a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission.

NEW YORK–Trevon Gross, the former chairman and CEO of Helping Other People Excel FCU (HOPE FCU), and Yuri Lebedev, a former member of the credit union’s board as well as former employee of Coin.mx, a Bitcoin exchange, have been found guilty today in Manhattan federal court in connection with a bribery scheme to take over control of HOPE FCU and a fraud scheme in furtherance of the operations of Coin.mx.

DANA POINT, Calif.–The 12th annual California and Nevada Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction here raised more than $1 million for the 11 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in California and Nevada.  It is the third consecutive year the event raised more than $1 million.
