MCLEAN, Va.--The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.46% this past week, Freddie Mac reported.
“The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage edged up, averaging 6.46% this week,” said Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s chief economist.
The 30-year FRM averaged 6.46% as of April 2, up from last week when it averaged 6.38%. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 6.64%. The 15-year FRM averaged 5.77%, up from last week when it averaged 5.75%. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 5.82%, Freddie Mac said.
