$5M Donation Gets Arena Named After CU

TAMPA—Suncoast Credit Union here has donated $5 million for the construction of a new, $20-million multi-purpose arena at Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers, Fla.

The arena will be used for athletic, cultural and civic events and will be named the Suncoast Credit Union Arena. Groundbreaking is expected in April or May.

It is the largest donation in the school's 53-year history.

The $5.8-billion CU is also contributing to an athletic scholarship and will help assemble a financial literacy plan to aid students graduating with heavy debt.
