WARREN, Ohio —717 Credit Union has launched a Business Accelerator Program aimed at small businesses in its markets.
Christine Hughes, business development manager with the credit union, told the Business Journal Daily the idea behind the accelerator is to help small businesses grow.
“We want to be able to provide practical information that helps businesses to be able to solve pinpoints that prevent that from happening and also to provide training on practical things that maybe they do not know about that can prevent their business (from growing),” the publication quoted Hughes as saying.
The 717 Credit Union Business Accelerator Program will launch July 25 with a session on “eCommerce for Beginners,” which will be conducted by Hughes via a 90-minute Zoom session.
Additional Sessions
Other sessions will include:
- Aug 15: Barb Cibella, owner of Black Cat Tax, will host a session on accounting and tax practices.
- Aug. 27: Michelle Herron, manager of recruitment and training at 717 Credit Union, will cover finding and hiring great employees.
- Sept. 19: Attorney Joe Datchuk will host a program on business law basics.
Grant, Partnership Foster Program
Another offering of the program will be the Contractor Workshop, which will be held at Brite Energy Innovators in downtown Warren. Business Journal Daily said the contractor program is being through the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, which has obtained a grant from the Ohio Department of Development. That program has provided a pool of money available to contractors that provide lead abatement and home improvement projects.
