WASHINGTON--After success in March primary elections and primaries on an April hiatus, America’s Credit Unions PAC and league partners are looking ahead to a busy May and June supporting credit union champions, ACU said.
In May, 11 states—Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia—will hold primaries. Credit unions will also support candidates in the Texas run-off elections May 26.
An additional 16 states will hold their primaries in June: California, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah, ACU noted.
Several key credit union champions are facing competitive races. These include Reps. Young Kim (R-CA) and Brad Sherman (D-CA) who will compete in primaries within newly redrawn districts, as well as Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY), who is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.
ACU added the Credit Union Election Hub will be updated after each primary with state and district results involving PAC-supported candidates.
