As “Check Yourself: Stop Check Fraud Before it Starts,” the joint campaign from America’s Credit Unions, the American Association of Credit Union Leagues, and America Saves winds down, the Think Like a Saver podcast covered the campaign and what consumers should learn.

The podcast includes the credit union perspective on how check fraud can “impact consumers in a lot of different ways,” whether it’s fake checks, electronic checks, online transactions, or other interactions scammers try to exploit.  Loren Isaac, vice president of risk at Park Community Credit Union, shared how consumers can recognize check fraud and the warning signs, how consumers can protect themselves, and what they can do if they believe they’ve been targeted.

The America Saves campaign featured weekly themes used by credit unions to educate members, with resources including social media graphics, videos, and checklists built around each theme.
