BOSTON – The Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors (ACUIA) marked its 25th anniversary conference here with record attendance.
Kicking off with the Big Beantown welcome reception, Emmy Award winning entertainer Todd Newton enthralled attendees with a rousing round of “ACUIA Feud,” a Family Feud style game show that boasted more than 60 participants and dozens of prizes. Other featured speakers throughout the conference included former NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar, and Jason Hwang, vice president/director, financial strategies, research and membership applications at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.
During the meeting newly elected board members were announced, including Bobby Nichols of SECU, Jill Meznarich of Schools First FCU, and Dean Swenson of Wings Financial CU. Board officers include Chairman John Gallagher of SEFCU, Vice Chair Kara Giano of The Golden 1, Secretary Margaret Chamberlain of Arizona State CU, and Treasurer Barry Lucas of Desco FCU.
Also announced were annual award winners for their outstanding work and contribution to the profession. The 2015 Terry McEachern Auditor of the Year Award was presented to Patrick McCollough of Arkansas FCU.
