After 38 Years, Allegan Community CU CEO Retiring

ALLEGAN, Mich.—After working at the $31-million Allegan Community CU for 38 years, CEO Billie McClellan is retiring.

Kristopher Lewis, from Kellogg Community FCU in Kalamazoo, Mich., will succeed McClellan.

In a report in the Allegan Co. News, McClellan spoke about the importance of the cooperative in the small town, being the only remaining CU.

“We have no corporate office,” McClellan said. “All the policies and decisions are done locally with a board of directors made up of people in the community who know the impact it will have on members and what their needs are.”
