TAMPA, Fla.—Just back from a year in space, NASA astronaut Captain Scott Kelly will be a keynote speaker at CSCU’s annual conference, April 20–23 at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club in Orlando, the company announced.
“Captain Kelly captivated the world during his 143-million-mile adventure, while laying the groundwork for the future of space travel and exploration,” CSCU said. “Kelly will deliver a truly one-of-a-kind experience with lessons learned and personal stories that reveal unique and valuable insight on leadership and teamwork. His historic mission included NASA’s groundbreaking Twins Study, in which Kelly’s identical twin brother, retired NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, served on the ground as a control model in an unprecedented experiment to understand how space affects the human body.”
At the conference, CSCU said it once again will bring knowledgeable industry experts to lead discussions on the current state and future of electronic payments. Breakout sessions and panel discussions will “emphasize trends and actionable portfolio management strategies credit unions will need to survive the ever-changing electronic payments landscape,” the company said. “In addition to learning from CSCU, FIS and VISA experts, attendees will network with peers who will share tactics that have made their own programs successful.”
“We are very excited for our conference attendees to be among the first to hear from Captain Scott Kelly in one of his first speaking engagements since returning from space,” said Robert Hackney, president of CSCU. “Each of our speakers will bring a wealth of knowledge to an industry ready to learn crucial strategies to help manage the business landscape of today while developing a culture of innovation and engagement for the future.”
In addition to Kelly’s keynote, attendees will hear from other keynote presenters:
- Dan Thurmon, president, Motivation Works, Inc. A renowned speaker and thought leader of delivering peak performance inside and outside of the workplace, Thurman will inspire attendees to implement action plans and move confidently through transitions, leaving attendees with the knowledge to embrace uncertainty and initiate positive changes that lead to growth, CSCU said.
- Jason Dorsey, chief strategy officer at the Center for Generational Kenetics and bestselling author. Attendees will go behind the scenes of the industry to identify emerging trends and solve tough generational challenges based on cutting-edge research. Jason’s humorous and interactive session will give credit unions powerful generational clues that drive measurable results, more sales, better leaders and faster innovation, CSCU said.
The deadline to register for the conference is March 27. For more information and to register, visit cscu.net/solutions.
