TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama ONE Credit Union has named a new president and CEO to succeed the departed Bill Wells, who led the organization for nine years.
The $1.22-billion Alabama One said it has selected Whitney Oswalt as its new chief executive. Oswalt had previously service as chief strategy officer and CFO.
Oswalt has been with Alabama ONE since 2012 and has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, along with professional experience as a CPA and attorney, according to the organization, which said that over the last four year Oswalt has “led an effort to acquire five institutions, while expanding Alabama ONE's market presence to 27 locations across the state.”
‘Our Mission Will Not Change’
"I want to thank Bill for his strong and critical leadership over the last nine years in laying a strong foundation for Alabama ONE," Oswalt said in a statement. "Our mission will not change as we move forward focusing our growth in rural communities across Alabama. I am excited to get to work with our team and see what opportunities await Alabama ONE in the near future."
Alabama One has approximately 92,000 members.
