WASHINGTON--Part of ongoing advocacy on increasing access to mortgages, America’s Credit Unions’ advocacy team met with Federal Housing Finance Agency, Federal Housing Administration, and Department of Veterans Affairs staff Thursday.
The group discussed implementation of the Executive Order designed to promote access to mortgage credit.
America’s Credit Unions has joined organizations to provide recommendations to FHFA and other agencies on aligning appraisal standards, providing clarifications on safety and habitability versus cosmetic concerns, and expanding post-closing repair flexibility, the trade group noted.
Thursday’s discussion follows up a meeting with the Department of Housing and Urban Development Wednesday, and one with the Department of Veterans Affairs earlier this month, ACU said.
