MADISON, Wis.--At a July 10 executive team meeting between America’s Credit Unions and TruStage, leaders from both organizations came together at TruStage Headquarters here to "reaffirm" their long-standing partnership and identify new opportunities to advance the credit union system, ACU said.
The meeting served as a formal kickoff to increase executive collaboration, with a shared focus on strengthening ties, aligning strategic priorities, and building on more than 90 years of collective advocacy, research, education, and outreach. Attendees explored how each organization’s core competencies—TruStage in financial services and insurance, and America’s Credit Unions in advocacy and policy—can continue to complement and amplify one another, ACU explained.
The discussion emphasized preserving the legacy of cooperation while evolving the partnership to meet the modern needs of credit unions and their members. The teams reflected on the collective success of protecting the credit union industry’s tax status, underscoring the power of coordinated advocacy. Leaders also discussed the growing threat of fraud and how both organizations can help credit unions address it, as well as the importance of ensuring small credit unions receive the support they need to thrive. The meeting wrapped up with a focus on deepening collaboration and alignment to expand access, support legislative goals, and drive long-term growth across the credit union system, ACU noted.
The full executive teams of each organization were in attendance for TruStage and America's Credit Unions, including TruStage President/CEO Terrence Williams, America's Credit Unions President/CEO Jim Nussle, and American Association of Credit Union Leagues President Brad Miller.
