WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.—Move over Amex; Discover is now the highest-rated credit card issuer for customer satisfaction, according to a new study.
The J.D. Power 2015 U.S. Credit Card Satisfaction Study shows that Discover has overtaken American Express, landing a score of 828 out of 1,000. American Express scored 820 and Chase, 792.
Last year Discover tied Amex for No. 1 with a score of 819. It’s the first time in the study that Discover stands alone at the top.
J.D. Power attributed Discover’s No. 1 raking to the company improving its rewards redemption process and performing well across all six study factors: interaction, credit card terms, billing and payment, rewards, benefits and services, and problem resolution.
As an industry, card issuers scored a record-high 790, with GE Capital Retail Bank/Synchrony Bank and Citi ranked at the bottom.
