CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union is introducing a new name that blends the old with the new—Fortera Credit Union.
As is often the case, the change is being made to reflect an FOM that is far broader than what the Fort Campbell FCU name implies.
"I've been here about three-and-a-half years," CEO Tom Kane told local media, "and in that time, our leadership team and board of directors have been looking for ways to grow this organization. The long-held name, Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union, indicates to many people in the community that you have to be affiliated with the military to be a member of this credit union, but that is not the case. Research has shown that we have had a recognition issue in this community.”
The new name is meant to convey the CU’s Fort Campbell heritage, noting it is entering a new “era.”
Fortera is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in any of its five-county service area.
With the new name also comes with a new tagline: “Wherever life takes you.”
