And The Winner Of The CUToday.info March Madness Brackets Is…

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.—Patrick F. Harrigan, VP-regulatory compliance and general counsel with Service Credit Union here, has won CUToday.info’s “CU in the Tourney” contest, the first-ever credit union-wide March Madness brackets pool.

Harrigan finished with 126 total points in the pool tied to the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, which was conducted in conjunction with CBS Sports (final standings are below). Harrigan picked Wisconsin as the overall winner, with no one in the CUToday.info bracket picking the actual winner, Duke, which defeated Wisconsin in the final game. Eric Schornhorst, the CFO at Michigan First Credit Union, finished second in the bracket with 109 points, while Ryan Garland finished third with 107 points.

“I thought there was a good chance Kentucky would lose at some point, so I picked Notre Dame to do it,” Harrigan told CUToday.info. “That didn’t happen, but Wisconsin did. Other than that I went with teams I thought were playing the best at the end of the year, such as Michigan State.  I chose Wisconsin because it had an upper-class-laden team.  But all that being said, it is better to be lucky than good!”

Harrigan wins a $100 gift card for finishing atop the CUToday.info brackets.
