GREENWOOD, Ind.—The attacks on credit unions continue, but not from bankers: instead, from the drivers of automobiles crashing into CU buildings.
In the latest incident, a driver accidentally drove into a branch of Financial Center Credit Union here.
As CUToday.info reported here, there have been a significant number of cars hitting CU offices in the past two years all over the country.
Shortly after noon on Tuesday, Greenwood firefighters and emergency workers were called to the FCCU office at 20 N. Emerson Ave after the driver of a dark sedan pulled into a parking spot in front of the credit union and hit the gas, mistaking it for the brake. The driver’s name was not released. No one was injured, reported the Daily Journal.
The credit union branch closed after the incident, the news outlet reported Tuesday.
