At First-Ever Member Volunteer Day, Help For A Local Farm

OLYMPIA, Wash.—For its first-ever Member Volunteer Day, members of Washington State Employees Credit Union helped out at GRuB (Garden-Raised Bounty), a nonprofit dedicated to farming and gardening.

The volunteers from the CU’s membership helped to dig rows, weed, plant seeds and fertilize. In a statement to local media, WSECU said that the effort helped to reinforce the idea of credit unions being like family or community. It also helped to introduce the membership to the local organization. Among those participating in the day of volunteering was WSECU President Kevin Foster-Keddie.
