MONTREAL, Quebec–During its annual meeting here, NAFCU partnered with Welcome Hall Mission in a project in which attendees assembled 200 backpacks that will be donated to disadvantaged children in Montreal who are in need of school supplies.
“Individuals in the credit union industry take great pride in giving back to their communities, so this is a fantastic way for our attendees to show their support for those who are less privileged,” said NAFCU Vice President of Events and Education Lisa Cox. “Welcome Hall Mission does remarkable work for underprivileged children and their families, and we’re glad to partner with them this year.”
Sponsors of the backpacks include MasterCard, Insuritas, GlobalVision Systems, Inc., and Ascensus. Each backpack contains school supplies. Attendees at the conference not only participated in filling the backpacks, but they also wrote a special note to each child receiving one.
