Bank Of America Plans Additional Job Cuts

CHARLOTTE, N.C.–Bank of America Corp., which cut more than 10,000 jobs during 2015, said it will again seek to reduce its number of employees in 2015 as it moves to further cut costs.

“We took down the headcount by 2,000 in the fourth quarter,” CEO Brian Moynihan told Bloomberg during the World Economic Forum in Davos. Moynihan did not provide a figure for the number of jobs the bank is seeking to eliminate in 2016.

Bank of America had 213,280 employees as of Dec. 31, 2015, a decrease of 4.7% from one year earlier

The company reported net income for the three months that ended Dec. 31 had increased 9.4% to $3.34 billion. Revenue for the year fell 2.1% to $82.5 billion and expenses declined 24% to $57.2 billion.
