Been To a Museum? A Zoo? Your Card May Be Breached

DENVER–Another breach affecting consumer accounts has been reported. Service Systems Associates said it believes a breach has taken place that affects approximately 12 of the payment systems it operates for museums, parks and zoos across the country.

It is believed the breach occurred as the result of POS malware and that debit and credit card purchases made at the terminals between March 23 and June 25 are affected.

The extent of the breach and the number of cards involved has not been released. The company said it was working with authorities to investigate the breach.

Among the SSA clients potentially involved are History Colorado Center, the Detroit Zoo, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Cincinnati Museum Center, the Minnesota Zoo, Oklahoma's Tulsa Zoo, the Denver Zoo, the California's Monterey Bay Aquarium, Kentucky's Louisville Zoo, the Dallas Zoo, Zoo Miami, the Nashville Zoo, the Pittsburgh Zoo, the Honolulu Zoo, New York's Buffalo Zoo and New Mexico's Albuquerque Bio Park.
