Best Practices in Virtual General Meetings to Be Shared, Fittingly, During Virtual Meeting

MADISON, Wis.–Over the past year credit unions around the world have learned numerous lessons in hosting virtual annual meetings, and the World Council is hosting, appropriately, a webinar to share them.

The webinar, “Virtual Annual General Meetings – Best Practices & Lessons Learned,” is scheduled to be held May 13 at 10 a.m. ET.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced credit unions across the globe to restructure their traditional, face-to-face Annual General Meetings (AGMs) due to health and safety concerns,” WOCCU said. “This World Council webinar presentation will provide a roadmap to hosting a successful AGM virtually, walking attendees through a series of considerations in planning their AGM to help them identify their needs, the tools that will serve them best, and strategies for overcoming challenges.”

The agenda includes an overview of World Council’s “Considerations for Planning a Virtual AGM” whitepaper, interviews with two international credit union association experts on the lessons they have learned in hosting their own AGMs in the past year and how they have advised their local credit unions on various challenges faced regionally.

The session will also include a brief demonstration of VPOLL, a mobile polling solution powered by Vistacom, and will close with Q&A, WOCCU said.

The Presenters

Presenters will include:

  • Kassandra Schroeder, manager, Virtual Engagements & Special Events, WOCCU
  • Denise Garfield, general manager, Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions
  • Suzanne Burnie, manager, Conferences and Events, Canadian Credit Union Association
