BEAVERCREEK, Ohio—The $3.6-billion Wright-Patt CU closed its 3560 Pentagon Blvd. office Friday morning due to a bomb threat, which apparently turned out to be a hoax.
At about 10:50 Friday, an anonymous caller phoned a business near the Wright-Patt CU branch, Beavercreek Police Captain Scott Molnar told WHIO. Molnar declined to identify the business that received the call, saying only the business was in a building adjacent to the credit union.
“An unidentified caller made statements that there was a bomb at Wright-Patt Credit Union,” Molnar told the newspaper Friday afternoon. “And then we contacted Wright-Patt Credit Union. They made the determination to go ahead and evacuate the building. We called in a couple of bomb dogs, and they are currently searching as we speak.”
Authorities reported that the caller did not claim allegiance to terrorist group ISIS.
The search for a bomb began around 12:30 p.m. CUToday.info contacted a Wright-Patt CU executive, who reported that a bomb was not found and that the situation is under control.
