LANCASTER, S.C.—After leading Founders FCU since 2003,
Bruce Brumfield will retire at the end of this year, the CU announced.
As part of the CU’s transition plan, Founders Executive Vice President Keith Wilson assumed the role of president on Jan. 1, 2025. Brumfield will remain as CEO through the end of the year.
Brumfield joined Founders in 1988 and became CEO in 2003. Under his leadership, Founders’ assets expanded from $944 million to more than $4.8 billion, with 850 employees serving 273,000 members across 44 locations in two states.
Wilson, a 25-year veteran of the credit union, has held roles in branch and regional management, as chief operating officer, and most recently, as executive vice president.
“Keith has a proven track record of management, integrity and commitment to member-focused growth,” Brumfield said. “I am confident he has what it takes to lead this credit union.”
“We owe so much to Bruce for his leadership. Having his knowledge and experience will make this transition as seamless as possible,” said Roy Hunt, chairman of Founders board of directors.
