WASHINGTON—It will be a busy day today on Capitol Hill with numerous hearings related to credit union issues on the agenda.
They include:
- 10 a.m. ET, House Committee on Financial Services “Preserving Consumer Choice and Financial Independence.” Those testifying will include Patrick Miller, president/CEO of CBC FCU in Oxnard, Calif., on behalf of CUNA. Peggy Bosma-LaMascus, CEO of Patriot FCU, will testify on behalf of NAFCU. Both will outline measures for regulatory relief.
- 10 a.m. ET, House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on commerce, manufacturing and trade, "Discussion Draft of Data Security and Breach Notification Act of 2015."
- 10 a.m. ET, Senate Committee on the Judiciary, "The Impact of Abusive Patent Litigation Practices on the American Economy."
- 1 p.m. ET, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, "Cybersecurity: The Evolving Nature of Cyber Threats Facing the Private Sector.”
Both NAFCU and CUNA have provided comment letters to the various committees and subcommittees.
