GRAND FORKS, N.D.–Marney Kresel, CEO of University Federal Credit Union, announced she will retire on Jan. 8, 2016, after 25 years at the credit union.
Kresel came to UFCU in 1991 from Telco Federal Credit Union, where she was a manager. She was hired as a member service representative/teller, then promoted to loan officer. In the early years of her tenure with the credit union, she quickly moved up in ranks from loan officer to assistant manager and manager, after the retirement of the previous manager, according to a statement from the CU’s board, which also noted it reclassified the position as chief executive officer.
During her career Kresel oversaw growth to $29-million from $8.5-million, as well as the development, construction, and managing of a branch location, and has managed a number of relocations within the University as space was re-allocated.
No successor has been named.
