WASHINGTON—CUCollaborate is reporting that its “Credit Union Match” Kickstarter project is now fully funded, having raised $50,352.
The project, which had sought to raise $40,000, received contributions from 212 different backers made up of consumers, credit unions, and companies that work with credit unions. The 147 individual credit unions that backed the project contributed the bulk of the total monies raised, CUCollaborate reported, but the largest individual contributions came from, CO-OP Financial Services, PSCU, and Arizona Federal Credit Union.
CUCollaborate said it now plans to conduct a series of webinars for credit unions as well as a focus group as it gathers feedback on Credit Union Match’s functionalities and different proposed business models that CUCollaborate could implement to support. Members of the focus group will vote on the platform’s final functionalities and corresponding business model.
CUCollaborate said its goal is for Credit Union Match to serve as the foundation for a sustainable, well-funded collaborative marketing campaign, including development of a website and search engine that will be shared for free with any organization interested in hosting the search engine on its website. Credit Union Match should be live and ready for use no later than July, it said.
