CUSG Invests In Reset Financial Technologies, Expands Fee-Free Earned-Wage Access To CUs

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – CUSG, a technology platform company offering software solutions in the areas of HR technology, marketing technology, and financial technology, has made a strategic investment in Reset Financial Technologies and a referral partnership that will support the deployment of Reset’s earned-wage access (EWA) solution to U.S. financial institutions, the organization announced.

CUSG serves more than 2,200 financial institutions nationwide, reaching over 78 million members.

Through the partnership, CUSG will work closely with the Michigan Credit Union League to initially introduce Reset’s platform to community financial institutions in Michigan seeking to offer a fee-free earned-wage access solution.

Reset is an emerging fintech platform that enables individuals and families to access their earned wages daily without fees. Unlike traditional EWA providers, payday lenders, and neobanks that rely on consumer fees or employer costs, Reset delivers a model designed to align with the mission and economics of community financial institutions–including driving core deposit growth and premium interchange revenue.

"Payday lending and traditional earned-wage access solutions impose a significant financial burden on millions of families,” said Patty Corkery, CUSG president and CEO. “Our goal is to ensure that credit unions and community banks can offer a truly fee-free earned-wage access solution for their members and customers that supports their financial wellness. By bringing Reset to our clients, we’re helping more families take control of their finances while keeping their primary relationship with a trusted financial institution.”

The partnership, CUSG said, aims to help financial institutions retain direct deposit relationships, increase digital engagement, and compete more effectively against high-cost payday lenders and fintech alternatives. Through Reset’s platform, participating financial institutions can offer their members and customers the ability to:

  • Access earned wages daily without fees
  • Receive earned wages directly through a card powered by their financial institution that can be managed within their existing digital banking platform
  • Use automated cashflow budgeting to understand responsible spending based on earnings, expenses, and other factors
  • Maintain and strengthen direct deposit relationships with their community financial institution

"We're excited to announce our partnership with CUSG, which aims to make earned wage access more accessible and affordable for millions of families," said Matt Dicou, co-founder and CEO of Reset. "Together, Reset, CUSG, and the financial institutions we collaborate with recognize the significant benefit of timely access to hard-earned wages. The flexibility and control from fee-free earned wage access increases the financial stability of the hard-working members of our communities, and the Reset platform makes that possible.”
