CUs Urged To Build Digital Marketing Skills

SPOKANE, Wash.—Credit unions were urged to build their digital marketing expertise during the Northwest Credit Union Association’s (NWCUA) Amplify Convention here.

While reassured that most people are not digital marketing experts, CUNA Mutual Group’s Stephen Arnold offered some compelling statistics that indicate digital is growing and vital for helping businesses stay competitive. Arnold, VP of the TruStage Auto and Home Insurance Program, noted that by the end of 2014, it is projected that 105-million U.S. consumers will own a tablet.

“That’s roughly one-third of the U.S. population, which is helping boost projected online sales for this year to $296 billion,” he added. “While it presents both challenges and opportunities for credit unions, it’s important to demystify digital, understand what tactics are available and how they can benefit your credit union,” said Arnold.
