LONDON, Ontario, Canada–Another credit union in this market has introduced a new online-only operation.
The $3.3-billion Windsor Family CU has launched Omnia Direct, following Libro Credit Union, which was first here to put an online-only division in place. Windsor Family said the new entry is not designed to compete with Libro’s offering, but instead with banks in the market.
“We don’t compete against one another. We provide an alternative to banks,” Eddie Francis, vice-president at WFCU, told local media.
Omnia will offer a full range of services online, including such as no-fee banking and checking. Omnia Direct specifically targets Millennials and youth who are comfortable with digital offerings.
“This is part of our game plan, we want to go to the next level,” Francis was quoted as saying. “We offer better service than other financial institutions.”
