Card Fraud Could Impact Hundreds Of GFCU Members

SAN ANTONIO—A man has been arrested here on charges of credit card abuse that one local media report said could affect “hundreds” of members of Generations FCU.

Generations had received more than 200 complaints from members regarding fraudulent charges of more than $40,000 in all. Police have arrested Ulises Vargas and alleged they have linked him to nine credit cards used to make purchases between April and June. KSAT, San Antonio, reported that investigators are unsure how Vargas allegedly obtained the credit card numbers. Charges against Vargas include credit card abuse, theft and fraudulent use of an ID.
