Carolinas League Contributes $50,000 To Foundation

COLUMBIA, S.C. and RALEIGH, N.C.—The Carolinas Credit Union League board of directors has voted to contribute an unrestricted $50,000 to the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.

"The Carolinas Credit Union League is a family of credit unions, and it is important that we give back in ways that are meaningful to all of them," CCUL President/CEO John Radebaugh said of the board decision. "To us, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation is just as its name implies: the solid base on which we connect with people through heartfelt, effective programs."

The Carolinas Foundation will attribute the funds directly to the Reach program, which brings to children in local hospitals and their families in local Ronald McDonald Houses the Victory Junction experience. Reach is an extension of Victory Junction and the Carolinas' rich history with the summer camp. Victory Junction challenges children with serious medical conditions to try things they never imagined possible, free from the confines of their illnesses or disabilities. Credit union support for Victory Junction over the last decade exceeds $2 million.

"Because of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, the Reach program has grown a lot and expanded our visits across the Carolinas," said camp founder Richard Petty. "They have been our partners for a long time and have really shown their commitment to Victory Junction. Their donations are making a huge difference for the children and families we serve, and we're really thankful for their contributions."

In 2015 the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation made its largest-ever pledge to Victory Junction of $800,000. The commitment enables Victory Junction to deliver its camp experience year-round throughout the Carolinas for four years. Last year, more than 4,200 children experienced the uplifting Reach program.
