Charlotte Metro Buys Naming Rights To Amphitheater

CHARLOTTE, N.C.–Charlotte Metro Credit Union has bought the naming rights to the Uptown Amphitheater here.

Following an agreement with Live Nation Entertainment, the venue will be known as the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre. The credit union said it was approached by the entertainment company about the sponsorship.

CMCU and Live Nation declined to disclose contract details. Live Nation issued a statement that it was a “multi-year” agreement with CMCU. The facility itself is owned by The Ark Group, but Live Nation operates the venue, which holds 5,000 people and hosts about 22 concerts each year.

The $370-million Charlotte Metro has 47,000 members.
