NEW YORKâCitigroup said that effective in January, 2015, it will enable its credit card customers to check their credit scores for free.
The company is the fourth-largest card issuer in the U.S. and is partnering with Fair Isaac Co. to allow holders of any Citi-branded credit card to check their respective FICO scores. Fair Isaac launched its program in 2013, and Citi is the largest issuer to come on board. Barclays and First National Bank of Nebraska were the first to sign up, and since that time Sallie Mae, Discover Financial Services and Pentagon Federal have also joined. Other credit unions, including Pennsylvania State Employees and State Employees in North Carolina, also provide members with access to credit scores.
