ONTARIO, Canada—With National Co-op Week being celebrated this week in Canada, credit unions in this province are part of a series of conferences and roundtables among all types of cooperatives.
With funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the “On Co-op” project is being led by the Ontario government and will include 30 community roundtables and six regional conferences. The Outreach Roundtable Series, taking place now, provides “unique opportunities for co-op leaders, board members and front-line staff to meet and network with representatives from other co-ops within the community,” according to organizers. The meetings will run into 2015. There are 1,300 co-operatives, credit unions and caisse populaires in Ontario.
