MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–The Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) is reporting it has reached a significant milestone, as its Small Credit Union Grant Program has surpassed the $50,000 mark in allocated funding.
Since its inception in July 2022, the program has provided “crucial financial support to twenty-five member credit unions, enabling advancements and improvements across a number of operational areas,” the CCUA said.
‘Thrilled to See Impact’
"We are thrilled to see the impact our Small Credit Union Grant Program has made in such a short period," CCUA President and CEO Ron McLean said in a statement. "These grants are empowering credit unions to enhance their services and infrastructure, ultimately benefiting their members and communities."
The CCUA said the grant funds have been instrumental in supporting technology updates, new ATM installation, security system and cybersecurity updates, mobile software upgrades, and advertising initiatives.
Eligibility for the grant is open to credit unions with assets under $200 million and can be applied for annually. The CCUA added the initiative aims to bolster smaller credit unions in serving and supporting their members’ evolving needs.
‘Great Support for Small CUs’
“In these challenging economic times, the CCUA small credit union grant support is invaluable,” Julie Przypek, manager and treasurer at Worcester Police Department FCU said in a statement. “The assistance program has been pivotal in helping our credit union keep up with today’s technological advancements to better serve our members.”
