Credit Unions For Kids Raises Record Amount During 2014

SALT LAKE CITY—A record $10.750 million was raised by more than 3,000 credit unions nationally during 2014 for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in 2014.

Children’s Miracle Network reported that fundraising under the “Credit Unions for Kids” brand, that the credit union community has donated more than $140 million to member hospitals since 1996.

One of 2014’s highlights was the introduction of the one-day Shop for Miracles campaign that engaged 108 credit unions representing 33 states resulting in $450,000 for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, CMN said. Other national campaigns included the Change a Child’s Life coin drive, Miracle Jeans Day and the Holiday Icon campaign. Additional fundraisers included wine auctions, golf tournaments, runs/walks and workplace giving. These vital donations stay in the community to provide critical research, equipment, services and charitable care for local kids.

Since 2008, CO-OP Financial Services has encouraged credit unions, chapters and leagues to create and participate in Children's Miracle Network Hospitals fundraisers through a Miracle Match program. In 2014, the program matched 190 events for 170 credit unions and helped generate more than $3 million for 110 hospitals in 41 states.
