Credit Unions, Individuals In The Dakotas Are Recognized

BISMARCK, N.D.–The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas has presented three credit unions with awards: 

  • Voyage Federal Credit Union was recently presented with the Five Star Award.  This prestigious award is given to one credit union each year to recognize outstanding achievements in five categories: education, legislative activities, public relations and marketing, member contact, and community service.  Voyage FCU was recognized for achieving credit union excellence and for increasing public awareness of credit unions in their community.

  • Service First Federal Credit Union was recently presented with the Growth & Progress Award.  This prestigious award is given to one credit union per year which has exceeded the state’s average increase in four categories:  assets, shares, loans outstanding, and membership increase.

  • Black Hills Federal Credit Union was presented with the Champion Award by the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas.  This prestigious award is given to the credit union that best demonstrates a commitment to the political well-being of the credit union movement by their financial contributions.  Black Hills FCU received the award for donating the most dollars to the Credit Union Political and Legislative Action Committees.

  • Morris Buchholz, Board Chair of Service First Federal Credit Union in Sioux Falls, was named the South Dakota Volunteer of the Year by the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas. The award is given to the individual who best shows dedication to credit unions and their cooperative philosophy, devotion to duty as a volunteer, efforts in improving the financial fitness of their credit union, and other criteria that shows commitment to expanding credit union service to residents of South Dakota.

  • Loren Welch, Board Chair of Railway Credit Union in Mandan, N.D., was named the North Dakota Volunteer of the Year by the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas at their annual Summit Awards Banquet that was held at the Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck, North Dakota.  This prestigious award is given to the individual who best shows dedication to credit unions and their cooperative philosophy, devotion to duty as a volunteer, efforts in improving the financial fitness of their credit union, and other criteria that shows commitment to expanding credit union service to residents of North Dakota.
