PUYALLUP, Wash.—A stolen excavator was used to rip loose a BECU ATM from a standalone kiosk here.
Three suspects are on the loose after loading the cash machine into a pickup truck and driving away, MyNorthwest.com reported.
Puyallup police say three suspects wearing dark clothing and masks used a stolen excavator to dismantle a stand-alone kiosk that held an ATM on East Main. They believe the rig was stolen from a nearby construction site, MyNorthwest.com said.
Witnesses, reportedly, watched as the suspects broke the kiosk apart, and then used the excavator to lift the ATM loaded with cash into the back of the pickup.
Officers arrived just as the pickup was leaving the scene. The suspects left the excavator behind.
Officers pursued the criminals, but stopped chasing the truck as they approached the Sumner city limits, MyNorthwest.com reported.
