DENTON, Texas—DATCU has made a donation of $100,000 to the Denton Parks Foundation at the Denton City Council.
The presentation was made by DATCU’s Chief Executive Officer, Dale Kimble and President, Glen McKenzie.
“Denton is our birthplace and a part of our heritage for almost 80 years. It is our honor and privilege to give back in support of this community project,” said Kimble. “This donation of $100,000 to the Eureka 2 Community Playground enables DATCU to share in enhancing the lives of our kids. This revitalized playground provides a place to play freely, interact with other children and families, and to engage in healthy outdoor activity. We chose to donate to this project because it’s good for our children and that’s what we do as a credit union – we give back.”
Denton’s Eureka Playground located in South Lake Park was originally designed and built in 1995. According to the credit union, the current costs of maintenance and the need to meet newer playground safety standards made this project a necessity if families were to continue to enjoy this play area.
