DCUC Praises Padilla, Cramer For Reintroducing CLF Bill With Senate-Approved NDAA Language

WASHINGTON--The Defense Credit Union Council praised Sens. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) and Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) for reintroducing the CLF legislation (S. 3575), noting that the measure includes updated language previously approved by the Senate and incorporated into the Senate-passed National Defense Authorization Act.

The CLF bill reflects strong bipartisan leadership and builds on the momentum generated during consideration of the NDAA, reinforcing Congress’s commitment to addressing this critical issue.“Senators Padilla and Cramer continue to demonstrate outstanding bipartisan leadership by reintroducing the CLF bill with language that has already earned Senate approval,” said Jason Stverak, DCUC chief advocacy officer.

“We strongly support this legislation and thank both senators for their persistence and dedication to advancing this important policy. This legislation is necessary, timely, and has already demonstrated broad support.”While disappointed that the CLF provisions were not ultimately included in the final NDAA, DCUC said it is committed to working with Congress to move the bill forward without delay.

"DCUC strongly supports S.3575 and looks forward to continued collaboration with lawmakers to ensure its swift enactment," the trade group added.
