KETTERING, Ohio — Another Ohio credit union is participating in a state program aimed at making homeownership easier.
Day Air Credit Union said it has partnered with the state to introduce a 7.5% APY savings product tailored to assist any Ohio resident looking to purchase a home in the next five years.
The 7.5% APY is available on deposits ranging from $100 to $100,000. In addition, the $821-million Day Air is extending its homebuyer support by providing up to $2,500 in savings on closing costs for individuals utilizing funds from the Homebuyer’s Plus account towards the purchase of a home financed through Day Air Credit Union.
“We are thrilled to launch the Day Air Homebuyer’s Plus Savings Account, representing another way Day Air empowers individuals and families in achieving their financial dream,” President and CEO Bill Burke said in a statement. “This savings product not only offers a highly competitive APY but also demonstrates our dedication to providing practical solutions that make homeownership more accessible and affordable for our community.”
Minimal Requirements
The credit union said the product has minimal requirements and requires that:
- Funds must be used toward the down payment on a home purchased within five years of opening the account.
- The home must be located in Ohio and intended as a primary residence.
As CUToday.info reported earlier, Firelands FCU in Bellevue, Ohio is also participating with a similar program.
