ALEXANDRIA, Va.–Today is the deadline for comment to NCUA on the list of regulations the agency currently has under review for potential updates.
NCUA annually reviews one-third of its regulations for whether they need to be updated, clarified, simplified or just plain eliminated.
Among the regs up for review this year are those involving fees paid by FCUs, CU service contracts, capital adequacy rules, and bylaws.
Comments are also due later this month on NCUA’s proposed member business lending (MBL) rule. That proposal removes nearly all rules not included in the
Federal Credit Union Act. It would, among other things, create a category of “commercial” loans for purposes of safety and soundness.
The MBL comment deadline is Aug. 31.
