ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The two deadlines in the legal battle between the Trump Administration and dismissed NCUA board members Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka have been pushed back.
As CUToday.info reported, May 7 was the deadline for defendants to file their opposition to the lawsuit and May 12 was the deadline for the plaintiffs’ reply.
According to a recent joint court filing, the legal teams for Otsuka and Harper and the defendants have now set the following dates:
- May 9, 2025: Defendants file their opposition and any cross-motion on or before May 9
- May 19, 2025: Plaintiffs file their reply and opposition to any cross-motion on or before May 19
- May 23, 2025: Defendants file their reply in support of any cross-motion on or before May 23
The parties have also proposed that oral argument on the parties’ motions be held during the last week of May.
The recent filing also states the plaintiffs will not challenge NCUA holding its May 22 open board meeting, given the topics on the agenda.
“Plaintiffs may revisit the need for interim relief depending on any changes to the anticipated scope or nature of the May 22 meeting or the board meeting thereafter, tentatively scheduled for June 17,” the filing states.
