LAS VEGAS—Tom Davis kicked off the Edge 2025 conference by telling attendees they have a vital role to play in shaping the future of financial services.
The four-day event at the Aria hotel is focused on driving innovative thinking by showcasing the latest financial services industry technology advancements. The event is presented by Trellance, CUDX and the Filene Research Institute.
“It's an honor to open this year's conference where the sharpest minds in financial services come together with the most forward leaning technologists to do what we do best— challenge convention, spark innovation and shape the future of our industry. We call this conference Edge because it is the boundary between what is known and the starting point of what's next,” said the CEO of Trellance.
Davis asserted that whether attendees are from a credit union, a fintech startup, a service provider or a legacy financial institution trying to transform, they are at the meeting because they are not content to stand still.
“We're here to push forward to collaborate to make our organizations in this industry smarter, faster, more resilient, and most importantly, more human,” he said. “We're living in an era in which technology is not just a supporting strategy, it is strategy.”
Davis asserted that artificial intelligence, real-time payments, embedded finance, open data ecosystems just aren't buzzwords anymore.
“These are the forces redefining member and customer experiences,” he said. “Let me be clear—technology alone is not enough. What matters is how we wield it. How we deploy it. How we use it to empower our people to protect privacy while unlocking insights. At Edge we're here to explore the intersection of innovation and impact.”
Davis told attendees the event will share information from leaders who are taking bold steps.
“You’ll hear from teams turning technology and regulatory complexity into opportunity. Turning fragmented data into predictive insights. These stories will inspire you, but most importantly they will equip you to go back to your organizations and lead differently and more effectively,” he said.
