Eight People Inducted Into Louisiana CU Hall of Fame

HARAHAN, La.– The Louisiana Credit Union League (LCUL) has inducted eight exceptional individuals into the Louisiana Credit Union Hall of Fame.

The induction took place during the league’s annual meeting here and was jointly sponsored with the Louisiana CU Foundation.

“This prestigious program has been established in order to recognize the valuable leadership, commitment, dedication, and contributions of credit union professionals and volunteers throughout the state,” the organizations said.

Inducted were:

Ronald Caruso, St. Tammany FCU (Slidell)

Gary Crockett, Pelican State CU (Baton Rouge)

Chris Craighead, Centric FCU (Monroe)

Fran Hemenway, Jefferson Parish Employees FCU (Metairie)

Bonnie McDonald, CSE FCU (Lake Charles)

Gay Parvazi, UNO FCU & New Orleans Firemen's FCU (New Orleans)

Donald Songy, Ascension CU (Gonzales)

Edward Stucke, Jefferson Parish Employees FCU (Metairie)

Donations Made

A $500 donation on behalf of the inductee was made to the Louisiana Credit Union Foundation to help foster educational programs for credit unions as well as monetary support sufficient to provide resources during times of natural disasters.

To date, more than 100 trailblazers have been inducted into the Louisiana Credit Union Hall of Fame raising nearly $60,000 for the Louisiana Foundation since its inception, the organization said.
