OAK RIDGE, Tenn.–The FBI and other law enforcement agencies have released composite sketches of the man and woman who are the suspects in two abduction/robberies involving a credit union and bank executive, respectively.
The suspects are being sought in the April abduction robbery of Mark Ziegler, CEO of Y-12 Credit Union, and his family, as well as the July abduction/robbery of an executive with SmartBank in Knoxville. A sketch of a third suspect has also been released, but due to the lack of facial details police are asking to focus instead on an orange tattoo on that person’s neck.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the subjects who committed these crimes. The agencies involved are exploring the possibility that these two events are related, based on similar subject descriptions and a similar method of operation, according to a press release issued by the FBI.
According to the FBI, the first male person of interest was described as white, with brown hair, possibly in his early 30s with a heavy build and round face. His composite sketch accompanies this article.
The female, whose composite sketch is also included, was described as white with a pale complexion, and possibly in her 30s. She was 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall and had long black hair that was possibly a wig.
The third person, a man was never seen clearly but a sketch was completed. The FBI said he is white, in his late 20s to early 30s, possibly with salt and pepper hair. He reportedly had an orange tattoo on his neck with a black and blue outline. He was 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet, 3 inches and about 160 pounds. He had a lean build and wore black clothing, a black face mask, a dark baseball hat, and dark sunglasses.
There have been four such abduction/robberies at financial institutions so far in 2015, with credit unions involved in three of those. No arrests have been made.
