KANSAS CITY, Mo.–The Heartland Credit Union Association announced its inaugural board of directors.
Member credit unions in Kansas and Missouri electronically cast their votes in the first-ever board election for the association that resulted from the merger of the Missouri and Kansas leagues.
“We were delighted that such a talented group of individuals ran for the Heartland Credit Union Association’s board of directors,” said Marla Marsh, HCUA co-president. “Each candidate displayed a depth of knowledge, experience and great passion for the credit union industry.”
“Congratulations to the newly elected HCUA board of directors,” added Don Cohenour, HCUA co-president. “On behalf of the Heartland Credit Union Association, we thank you for your dedication and service to credit unions. We look forward to working with you!”
Each member credit union could cast two votes in two categories: one based on geography and one based on the asset size of the voting credit union. In total, each credit union could cast four votes.

● Chris McCreary, United Consumers Credit Union
Asset Category-Greater than $250 million
● Lisa Ginter, CommunityAmerica Credit Union
● James Nastars, Meritrust Credit Union
The board of directors’ terms are staggered. Directors in the asset categories serve until annual meeting 2017; those in the geographic categories serve until annual meeting 2018.
