SYOSSET, N.Y.–Kirk Kordeleski, who oversaw strong growth at Bethpage FCU as CEO before stepping down for health reasons in late 2014, has been named to lead a consulting firm that seeks to “help fledgling credit unions find their footing.”
Kordeleski, who had launched a community banking advisory firm, Kordeleski Consulting, has been named CEO of Miami, Fla.-based The Edge, according to Innovateli.com.
While at Bethpage from 2000-2014, Kordeleski helped Bethpage FCU to grow from $950 million in assets to nearly $6 billion, while it also became Long Island’s third-largest mortgage lender.
According to Innavateli.com, The Edge is being backed by Louis Hernandez, Jr., the chairman and CEO of Massachusetts-based Avid Technologies, a provider of music and video editing hardware and software. Hernandez is better known to many in credit unions as the former chairman of Open Solutions, Inc.
Kordeleski will remain in New York and will also bring some of his current employees to The Edge, Innavateli.com reported.
