Fortera Credit Union Buys Naming Rights To Stadium

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Governor’s Stadium, the home field of Austin Peay State University’s football program, will be renamed Fortera Stadium following a 25-year partnership with the credit union.

Fortera is paying $2.5 million for the naming rights over that period.

Crews are beginning to install signage reflecting the new name, with all the work expected to be done by April 23 as spring football practice wraps up. A celebration is scheduled for that same day. Fortera’s CEO, Tom Kane, and Austin Peay State University  President Alisa White will speak. The ceremony will be followed by a concert and end with a fireworks display at approximately 7:45 p.m.

“We’re a community credit union. We live here, we work here and we give here. At Fortera Credit Union, we believe it’s our responsibility to educate our members in order to help them make smart financial decisions,” Kane said in a statement.  “We are equally committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve by investing in partnerships with organizations committed to doing the same. As we evaluated partnership opportunities, we found Austin Peay to be aligned perfectly with our own core values.”

The credit union said it will also be able to expand its presence on campus, which currently consists of an ATM.

Fortera credit union was known until February as Fort Campbell FCU.
