HONOLULU–HawaiiUSA FCU has selected Velera to provide it with debit card processing services, alongside continued credit card processing support.
The $2.2-billion HawaiiUSA has more than 132,000 members.
According to the company, during its search for an ideal card processing partner, HawaiiUSA prioritized an organization with competencies in member experience; fraud, relationship and terminal management; portfolio optimization; staff experience and system integration.

One Key Priority
Added HawaiiUSA Chief Operations Officer Kaleo Kuroda in a statement, “Fraud management is one of our key priorities when it comes to member protection. We are excited to have our debit cards incorporated into Velera’s fraud management solution and look forward to leveraging their expertise across the debit card landscape in helping us proactively mitigate fraud threats to our members.”
Velera will begin providing debit card processing support in August 2024.
